It is a fact not obvious to non-electric vehicle (EV) owners that every electrical outlet (110v, 220v, or DC fast 480v) is a potential refueling spot for EVs. These so-called ‘dumb’ chargers are less expensive to install and are essential for deployment in underserved areas where a lack of affordable EV charging will inhibit adoption.

Although these introduced some BEV taxes for the first time, mostly falling on heavy and expensive BEV models, taxes fell harder still on vehicles with CO2 emissions. In my view, the remaining few percent will still depend on new BEVs in the affordable sub-compact class (BYD Seagull anyone?), Let’s see how it gets on.
