Researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee recently announced that they have set a record for wireless EV charging. As IEEE Spectrum reported in 2018 , WiTricity , headquartered in Watertown, Mass., Their system’s magnetic coils have reached a 100-kilowatt power level.

The Van Hool factory in Macedonia is building 900 buses this year; the factory is designed for an annual capacity of 1,000 buses. The Van Hool plant in Morristown (Tennessee, USA) is expected to start building buses from 2022. In 2018, Yutong built 60,868 buses, including 24,748 new energy buses.

Nissan and Daimler broke ground on the US$1-billion Aguascalientes, Mexico, plant in 2015, which will produce next-generation premium compact vehicles for Infiniti as of 2017 and for Mercedes-Benz starting in 2018. Later this month, Mercedes-Benz will provide further insights into the new pickup truck’s design, strategy and markets.

Southeast Partnership for Integrated Biomass Supply Systems (IBSS) led by the University of Tennessee is using switchgrass and woody biomass to produce butanol and aviation fuel.
