California ARB posts discussion document for developing Advanced Clean Transit (ACT) regulation

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has posted a discussion document. Mandate a fraction of bus purchases to be zero emission technology starting in 2018, and set a goal of complete transit fleet transition to zero emission technologies by 2040. About 57% of the transit vehicles are operating on natural gas while six% are hybrids.

The strategy proposed that short-term measures should be those measures finalized and agreed by the Committee between 2018 and 2023.
