They wanted to see whether an electric vehicle could feed electricity back to the grid. The company’s president, Tom Gage , dubbed the system “vehicle to grid” or V2G. And EV owners would become entrepreneurs, selling electricity back to the grid. And indeed, that’s how promoters of vehicle-to-grid technology perceive the EV.

Hydro-Québec’s research institute, IREQ, is teaming up with B3CG Interconnect, based in Saint-Eustache, and its partners to test vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) power exchanges. The project will also receive financial support from the Québec government as part of its 2011-2020 Action Plan for Electric Vehicles.
