The US Environmental Agency (EPA) has granted California’s waiver request enabling the state to enforce its greenhouse gas emissions standards (Pavley I) for new motor vehicles, beginning with the current model year. These regulations were authorized by the 2002 legislation Assembly Bill 1493 (Pavley). EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson.

The project—Building Genome-to-Phenome Infrastructure for Regulating Methane in Deep and Extreme Environments ( BuG ReMeDEE )—was awarded a $6-million grant by the National Science Foundation in October 2017. This, the deepest mine in North America, began filling with water following its closure in 2002.

In 2002 Fraser retired and founded Fraser Research , in Princeton, N.J., He was granted 107 patents in Korea and 46 U.S. He was honored for his contributions with the 2017 IEEE Canada Presidents’ Make-a-Difference Award. Zahn, who was granted more than 20 U.S. where he continued his networking work.

Employment in the plastics industry has followed a similar trend, with a 12% decrease since 2002. Total US employment in the chemicals industry declined by more than 20% in the last two decades, from more than 1 million in 1990 to just over 800,000 in 2009, and is projected to decrease further.
