Raser Technologies and Hyundai Heavy Industries To Collaborate on Development of Renewable Energy and Extended Range Electric Vehicles

Raser first unveiled its Extended Range Series Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) drive system, developed with FEV, at the 2008 SAE World Congress in Detroit. The proposed solar power project will be built at Raser’s Thermo site in southern Utah, using photovoltaic (PV) solar panels and transmission equipment manufactured by HHI.

Utilizing both 400 and 800 volt charging, the slowest is by a standard 120V household plug that delivers a full charge in about two and a half days. There was limited body roll and the ride was comfortable and confident.
