This week, Syrah Resources reported that its Q3 production had been constrained by disruption in the global container shipping market. The company reported its production in Mozambique as 25kt in Q3, down from 29kt in Q2. Total output for 2021 is likely to rival the next-largest ex-China producer, National de Grafite in Brazil.

MCHG has also begun to consider the production and sale of anode materials in European countries and the United States. The market for Li-ion batteries for automobile applications is expected to grow about 30% annually on average. The production line is scheduled to start operation in the first half of fiscal 2023.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) 2013 has forecast annual sales of electric vehicles (EVs) of nearly 6 million units by 2020.

Brazil’s Petrobras closed two asset sales for the total sum of US$587 million. The Petrobras Board of Directors also approved the sale of Companhia PetroquÃmica de Pernambuco (PetroquÃmicaSuape) and Companhia Integrada Têxtil de Pernambuco (Citepe) to two subsidiaries of the Mexican company Alpek, for US$385 million.
