Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks with Toyota hydrogen fuel-cell modules Toyota’s fuel-cell development team helped develop the Toyota Mirai, which in its latest iteration Green Car Reports has called Toyota’s best-driving sedan. That kit and the fuel-cell modules themselves are coming from Toyota’s Kentucky plant.

The Group also is using the New Small Family (NSF) kit; the MLB (Modular longitudinal kit); and the MSB (Modular standard kit).

Audi’s e-tron quattro battery-electric SUV concept, which made its formal debut at IAA in Frankfurt ( earlier post ), is a strong indicator of Audi’s series-production electric SUV due in 2018—especially in terms of the powertrain. The e-tron quattro SUV can “ turn like a hunting dog after a rabbit.”

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. Plug-In Conversions Corp www.pluginconversions.com of Poway, near San Diego, CA converts the Toyota Prius using NiMH batteries and the EAA-PHEV open source control system, and will provide kits to qualified DIY installers.
