36/48 volt. I am leaning towards a golf cart or forklift motor. She love to hunt, and fish, but as her decease has progressed it has become increasingly more difficult for her to take part in these activities. This is a 24 volt system, and made for flat, hard surfaces. Golf cart motor ?

Chevy Volt and Navistar E-star are visible in the background. New York City is adding 70 electric vehicles to its fleet: 50 new Chevrolet Volts, 10 fully electric Ford Transit Connect cargo vans, and 10 new fully electric Navistar E-star utility trucks. The Chevrolet Volt is the first electric car being used by the NYPD.

The circuit above costs less than $10 per battery in parts and I hope to make this available to everyone to help people make their batteries last longer. I'll have to modify the circuit with a voltage doubler in the final stage to work with 8-volt golf-cart batteries for the 914 EV kit.

Before Tesla, they were seen as nerdy golf carts, far from usable as “real cars.” Once Tesla started selling the Model S in 2012, EVs became high-tech accessories, signifying drivers’ cutting-edge status as owners of the latest and coolest automotive technology (something the Nissan LEAF or Chevy Volt struggled to convey).

After much time on the phone with UPS Freight, the 8-volt golf cart batteries finally showed up today! Although the Bill of Lading clearly stated that this was a residence requiring a liftgate, UPS seemed to overlook that part of the order. Here's the semi that showed up at my doorstep to block off the street.

Since I'm still waiting on parts from ElectroAuto, I decided to take the plunge and do some extensive research on Lead-Acid battery technology. The 914 AC kit uses 8V golf cart batteries and I'm wondering if different batteries like Hawkers or Optima Yellow-Top batteries would be better.

I should be getting the 18 8-volt golf-cart batteries from American Battery Company early next week. Napa Auto Parts is willing to sell me battery grounding straps of any length with eyelets on each end so I can hook everything together.
