F-150 Lightning offers a standard-range battery targeting 230 miles of EPA-estimated range and an extended-range battery targeting 300 miles of EPA-estimated range. 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum, Lariat, XLT. Once power is restored, the truck automatically reverts to charging its battery.

The Whip is a two-seater that can travel at a top speed of 35 mph for 40 miles per charge; it sells for around $19,000. GM calls the Volt an extended-range electric vehicle, or EREV.
