While demand growth for EVs outstrips traditional petrol and diesel vehicles, buyers still have the upper hand in an Australian used electric vehicle market dominated by Tesla. Mitsubishi i-MiEV – from $12,000 2010 Mitsubishi i-MiEV. These tiny i-MiEVs were the first EVs on sale in Australia in 2010. We found only four for sale, with $28,880 for a 190km range 2014 60Ah version with 100,000km the cheapest. A piece of history? BMW i3 – from $28,000 2020 BMW i3s EV.

At the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), Mitsubishi Motors North America President and CEO Shinichi Kurihara confirmed that the company is developing the i MiEV for sale in world markets, including the United States. iMiEV Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle by Noel Adams Mitsubishi has been showing a number of electric cars at auto shows starting in Tokyo back in 2005, they didnt show the most recent iteration, the one that will be the production version, until the 2007 Frankfurt Auto show.

Rumors are flying that Nissan is preparing a subcompact electric vehicle to compete directly with cars like the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, and it may even be made in China. The rumors are unconfirmed: word of mouth from inside a partner company of Nissan.

Audi e-tron GT: A competitor to the Tesla Model S, the e-tron GT had a 65% increase in Q4 over Q3, its first quarter for sale in the US.

Despite being low-speed vehicles about which safety concerns have been raised, they have months long waiting lists. Limited ranged, lead-acid battery based cars, they have nonetheless proven the demand of even less than perfect electric vehicles. Daimler is set to be the first on the street with 100 test vehicle SMARTs in 2008.
