The York facility is much closer to Heathrow Airport (to which there are cheap nonstop flights from Denver) than the one in Edinburgh , so we rented a Mercedes-Benz A-Class saloon and drove the four hours north to York (stopping at a breaker's yard near Nottingham to grab some Euro-market XJ Cherokee taillights, as one does).

Last week, a first-model-year Lark sedan showed up at a self-service yard just south of Denver , and I was there to document it in its final parking spot. With its three-on-the-tree column-shift manual transmission , this car would have attained respectable fuel economy for its era. Even a cabin heater cost extra.
