In fact, they’re getting much more use away from the golfing green as an alternative to cars in neighborhoods all over the US. Golf carts have wheeled their way out of the fairways, becoming the go-to chariot for zipping around local neighborhoods with a touch of whimsy and practicality. I know because I definitely would!

Electric microcars are a tricky to define subset of motor vehicles, especially in the US. Open-air neighborhood electric vehicles , fancy golf carts , and other small vehicles tend to blur the line, leaving microcars in that weird category of “I know it when I see it.”

It’s definitely a qualifier for the Awesomely Weird Alibaba Electric Vehicle of the Week column and hopefully helps us finish the year strong! V6 that my parents’ Pontiac minivan came with, this Alibaba version has a 4,000W electric motor ready to clock in for a union job driving around those snot-nosed kids every day.

General Motors’ self-driving unit, Cruise, saw protests outside its San Francisco headquarters earlier this week. The incident, which happened on August 14, involved a pedestrian who was hit by a car in the South of Market neighborhood of San Francisco.

Last year, General Motors and Honda announced plans to jointly develop hydrogen fuel cell cars, and Hyundai will lease its Tucson Fuel Cell hydrogen-powered vehicle in California this spring. With H 2 FIRST, we’re definitely on the road to making that happen more quickly. Toyota will begin selling its Fuel Cell Vehicle in 2015.
