Flash Drive: 2023 Toyota Prius Prime PHEV Plug-in Hybrid Technology in an All-New Package Toyota is taking the lead suggesting how you should drive a plug-in hybrid. The all-new 2023 Prius Prime gets two less miles per gallon in hybrid mode than the 2022 model, but the all-electric driving range has increased substantially.

Only available in the US beginning in March of 2021, the hot-selling Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) was apparently the top-selling PHEV in the US last year. The US Cash for Clunkers program (CARS) ended Tuesday night with 690,114 dealer transaction submitted worth $2,877.9 With the end of transactions under the program, the Department of Transportation is augmenting a team that already includes more than 2,000 people processing dealer applications for rebates. Another top-selling EV beyond Tesla models that is not included is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe PHEV, which likely saw 2021 sales of between 20,000-25,000. What is a surprise to us, was the rebound in sales of the Prius Prime, which was up 128% YOY. 4 was only beginning to reach US dealers. 4 (16,742) BEVs. 4 by 10,398 units.

The top 10 vehicles bought under the programme were: the Toyota Corolla; Honda Civic; Toyota Camry; Ford Focus FWD; Hyundai Elantra; Nissan Versa; Toyota Prius; Honda Accord; Honda Fit; and the Ford Escape FWD.
