It was only around 15 years ago that EVs could barely travel 50 miles before running out of juice. How much does it cost to lease an electric car? No depreciation worries.

I won’t be surprised if they top even that number given how battery tech is advancing. In the coming decade, battery prices will go down, whereas the cost of petrol will keep going up. By 2030, you can expect battery packs to last 2 million km. These are the real facts. Ultimately, electric cars will win. More convenient.

Madan is very tech savvy - and actually founded a telemedicine company about a decade ago. For me it turned out to be a good tech demonstrator for what makes BYD the king of Chinese roads. Throw in costs of the driver, electricity and maintenance, that would mean a minimum revenue required of Rs. 6 lakh per year. 3,000 a day.
