Porsche will unveil the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid with controlled all-wheel drive and an electric range of 50 kilometers (31 miles) at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. The all-wheel Porsche achieves a top speed of 278 km/h (173 mph) and delivers a system torque of 700 N·m from stationary without hesitation.

Porsche unveiled the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid plug-in hybrid ( earlier post )—the fourth model in the Panamera line—at the Paris Motor Show. Porsche views “hybrid” as being as synonymous with performance as with sustainability, pointing to the victory of the 919 Hybrid in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2015 and 2016.

Dr. Martin Winterkorn said that “ The Porsche Mission E and the Audi e-tron quattro concept are nothing less than a quantum leap for our industry ”—both vehicles have an all-electric range of 500 kilometers (311 miles). Porsche Mission E. Porsche is a front-runner in introducing innovative 800-volt technology for the first time.

Many things have passed through my mind over the past year and a half while converting this vehicle. Most people seem to want want greater range, but are not willing to give up starting torque for it, especially for a Porsche. The CCPower C400 DC/DC converter kept dying on me. Converting a 914 to electric is a process.

Not all were, of course, as there is still plenty of interest around gasoline-propelled cars, SUVs and trucks. A big difference in the last generation 500e and the new model is the 2024 is built on a dedicated EV platform, not merely a battery and motor dropped into the gasoline version. 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar.
