BASF announced the commercial launch of PremAir NXT, a next-generation direct ozone reduction (DOR) catalytic coating technology for heat exchange surfaces such as radiators that can help automakers meet new US Tier 3 and California LEV III emissions reduction requirements. it converts ground-level ozone already in the air.

Using urban eddy covariance measurements, the researchers found that traffic-related NO x emissions in current operational air quality models can be significantly underestimated by up to a factor of 4 across countries with a sizeable fraction of diesel-powered cars in their fleet. TWC treatment can lead to a 10 fold reduction of NO.

Now, the Sharjah Public Transport Corporation has taken the decision to introduce gas powered taxi and bus fleets. Now it is going to convert all 5,065 taxis to run on natural gas by the end of the year - since last year Dubai has been replacing its existing taxi fleets with eco-friendly cars that run on hybrid engines.
