A special-purpose vehicle developer out of South Korea has introduced a new line of electric golf carts that can bring more technology and comfort to the game. Daeji Precision Company is a Korean manufacturer founded in 1975 specializing in special-purpose vehicles. Daeji has a solution, and it’s an exciting one.

Chevy Volt and Navistar E-star are visible in the background. New York City is adding 70 electric vehicles to its fleet: 50 new Chevrolet Volts, 10 fully electric Ford Transit Connect cargo vans, and 10 new fully electric Navistar E-star utility trucks. The Chevrolet Volt is the first electric car being used by the NYPD.

It’s a series plug-in hybrid like the Chevrolet Volt. The company indicated the unit will begin serial production as early as next year. Various other companies are currently designing and developing fleets of fully electric emergency vehicles, including golf carts for police and ATVs for search-and-rescue operations.
Porsche 914 EV Conversion

The 914 AC kit uses 8V golf cart batteries and I'm wondering if different batteries like Hawkers or Optima Yellow-Top batteries would be better. Both US-Battery and Trojan have 8-volt golf-cart batteries. With the AC system, I'll probably be pulling less amps and am looking forward to the extended range.

I should be getting the 18 8-volt golf-cart batteries from American Battery Company early next week. I've sent three e-mails and one phone call to Electro Automotive asking about the status of the battery racks/boxes and received no reply.

Capitol Hill made for a strange sight earlier this week as it was surrounded by everything from two-seat sports cars to vehicles that resembled golf carts and bucket trucks. The company has also applied for funding through the Federal Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing Loan Programme.
