Shell has selected Ascension Parish in Louisiana as the location for a potential natural gas-to-liquids (GTL) facility. Shell’s Gulf Coast GTL facility would be one of the first of its kind built to commercial scale in the United States. Louisiana has cultivated GTL projects with Shell and other global energy companies in recent years.

This project will expand Anovion’s existing manufacturing capacity in Sanborn, NY—notably the only qualified US source of battery-grade synthetic graphite commercially shipping product today. Anovion’s selected site has critical infrastructure in place that will allow for an accelerated timeline for the construction of the facility.

Myriant Corporation, a global renewable chemicals company, announced the successful start-up at its flagship bio-succinic acid plant located in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Myriant Corporation closed a $25 million private bond placement for the construction of its flagship commercial bio-succinic acid plant located in Lake Providence, Louisiana. The project is the first bio-succinic acid plant in the United States.

Amyris is presenting a summary of the results at the 34 th Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals in New Orleans, Louisiana. The pilot-scale project use both free (soluble) sugars and biomass (cellulosic) sugars from Ceres’ sweet sorghum hybrids grown in Alabama, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana and Tennessee.
