There are many separate vehicle tax categories in Norway, from simple sales taxes (VAT), to NOx tax, CO2 tax, weight tax, and more. So a relatively lightweight 1,700 kg BEV faces an additional cost of 15,000 NOK (about €1,410) from 1st January 2023. So €4,100 more overall, compared to its cost in December.

With two Electric cars, at the time a Nissan Lean and Mitsubishi Outlander, we use a considerable amount of electricity but not much petrol, so already we were a reasonable way down the less CO2 road. According to the Department for Business, the average cost for standard electricity in the UK in 2020 was 17.2p/kWh. Tons of CO2. .

Step away from them screens for a few hours and get your creative juices flowing! It’s estimated that UK households waste 4.5million tonnes of food every year , which creates greenhouse gases 21 times more damaging to the environment than CO2 when left to rot in landfill. Upcycle and recycling projects. What’s not to like?

Annual use of an EV should be less than the average cost of $8,000 per year for using a gasoline in many countries including the USA. So while my car is powering the great city during the day how will I have juice to drive home at the end of the day? Pre-paid 600 kilometer cards are one approach that is suggested. Email Neal.
