This effort eventually led to the formation of the Los Angeles County Clean Power Alliance. A leader with South Bay 350, Joe formed South Bay Clean Power and created awareness of and enthusiasm for the process known as Community Choice Aggregation. He was successful in bringing a number of cities to work together.

County AB 811 program which has already seen Howard Choy lay out a remarkable amount of the necessary groundwork, will proceed ahead as intended and be financing loans here in Los Angeles County in June of 2010. And I intend to do everything in my power to help it succeed.

We’ve always planned on retiring and spending the rest of our lives right here, but these days we’re worried about what climate change is already doing – and about the far more serious consequences headed our way. When I first met Elizabeth I had no idea that there were so many Tongan Americans living in large communities in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Dallas and other cities across the USA. Today all 3000 inhabitants of the Carteret Islands have been relocated as they become the first climate change refugees.
