California PUC requires SCE to procure at least 50 MW of new electrical capacity in LA Basin from energy storage systems

In a recent vote, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) authorized Southern California Edison (SCE) to procure between 1,400 and 1,800 megawatts (MW) of electrical capacity in the Los Angeles basin. Separately and earlier, SCE may also file applications for gas-fired generation in order to expedite review of such contracts.

California Energy Commission awards more than $575,000 to support CNG school buses in Los Angeles area

The California Energy Commission approved $578,261 to projects that will boost the number of CNG-fueled buses in two school districts in Southern California by providing compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling infrastructure. With more than 640,000 students the Los Angeles Unified School District is the second largest district in the nation.
