The project will include 27 alternative fuel stations (16 CNG, 7 B20/E85, one B20, three Electric Charging) and deploy 373 alternative fuel and advance technology vehicles (235 CNG, 58 HEV, two LPG, two EV). Vehicles to be deployed include 163 CNG, the vast majority for high mileage taxis and 18 heavy-duty LNG refuse trucks.

Where it used to be Hertz or Avis–or a taxi–the choices now are much more complex. Uber’s value proposition is that it is cheaper than using a taxi and much cheaper than using a personal car. No surprise fees are charged for being early or late, like some other car sharing services.

This left an untapped market for smaller, fit-for-purpose electric vans and trucks that will be not only used for last mile delivery, but longer range transportation of goods. The platforms can be mounted with a pickup or van body, and even a passenger design for a taxi. The PV5 should be the first to be released.
