Porsche will manufacture the future all-electric version of the fourth-generation Cayenne at Volkswagen Slovakia’s multi-brand location in Bratislava. Prototype of the new Cayenne Porsche has already announced a further all-electric SUV above the Cayenne for the second half of the decade.

A luxurious new electric seven-seat SUV to sit above the soon-to-be-EV Cayenne SUV has been confirmed by Porsche as part of its increasingly electrified future model mix. It will not only be larger than the Cayenne it will be more expensive as well. The new BEVs will join the existing Taycan electric family in Porsche’s line-up.

Paice ( earlier post ), an early developer of hybrid vehicle technology, has filed a complaint against the Volkswagen Group with the US International Trade Commission (ITC). In December 2015, Paice reached an agreement to license all of its hybrid vehicle technology to Hyundai Motor Co.

Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, gave a forecast of future drive system technologies. Among alternative drive systems, plug-in hybrids in particular offer great potential, Winterkorn said. The Volkswagen Group intends to launch at least 6 new plug-in hybrid models starting in 2014 and beyond.
