The cap is enforced by requiring each source that operates under the cap to turn in one allowance or offset credit for every metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO 2 e) that it emits. The cap-and-trade program gives sources flexibility to make the most cost-effective choices about when and how to reduce emissions.

The Volkswagen Group announced that it is choosing CO 2 as the future low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant for its mobile air conditioning (MAC) systems. With a GWP (Global Warming Potential) value of 1, R744 is 99.3% It has a high cooling capacity and is available worldwide at low cost in the required qualities.
