The Cadillac Lyriq and Chevrolet Blazer EV are losing the credit because of component qualifications, while all other EVs are temporarily losing eligibility. Additionally, the Equinox EV, GMC Sierra EV, Cadillac OPTIQ, and Silverado EV will be eligible for the full incentive. 43 vehicles had qualified in 2023.

A study by researchers at the Institute of Transportation Studies, UC Davis finds that buyers of plug-in vehicles (PEVs) are substantially less satisfied with the dealer purchase experience than buyers of conventional vehicles—with the notable exception of Tesla buyers. In some cases, dealers outright discouraged PEV purchases.

63,900 Cadillac XTS full-size sedan from the 2013 and 2014 model years. To repair the condition, dealers will remove the driver and passenger side air bag wiring harness connectors and splice and solder the wires together. Customers will be notified at that time. Add your name and, after a $100 refundable deposit, a local dealer will be in touch to complete the ordering process. The first was the 2023 GMC Hummer EV , next will be the Cadillac Lyriq. We can only speculate, but expect there to be a battery electric version of almost all the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC makes.

Broadly, Navigant expects expansion in both the higher end of the market (thereby putting competitive pressure on Tesla Motors), as Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Mercedes, Saab, and Volvo introduce their first plug-in cars. More mainstream models will come from Kia, Mahindra, Škoda, and Volkswagen. Tesla Motors will have a bumpy year.
