General Motors said that it will offer all of its Buick franchise dealers in the U.S. In June 2022, Buick announced plans to go all-electric by 2030 starting with a crossover SUV in 2024. Global Vice President of Buick and GMC, Duncan Aldred, told WSJ that shifting to EVs will require significant investments by Buick dealers.

The slow roll-out for eager consumers follows the Silverado EV WT work truck version that went on-sale in September 2023. The Silverado EV feels like a heavy SUV and not a heavy truck, which can cut both ways with consumers. Those coming from a SUV will feel right at home quickly, while truck owners may need some time to acclimate.
