Solaris—one of the leading bus manufacturers in Europe—has secured an order for more than 200 hybrid buses from Société Régionale Wallonne du Transport, the primary bus operator in Wallonia, Belgium. This design allows operators to drive a bus on all-electric power since the motor drives the wheels using stored energy.

A total of 40 Tesla Megapack battery storage systems replaced a World War II turbojet generator in Lessines, Belgium, Tesla announced. Previously, the generator had been providing energy support to the community since the 1950s. The system now has 50 MW of power and 100 MWh of capacity and supports the local grid. .

Eneco, an energy producer in the Netherlands, is relying on Tesla to power its biggest battery project to date, which will be used to “more efficiently balance Belgium’s electricity grid” and is expected to be operational in 2024. and Chubu Electric Power at an 80/20 split, respectively.

With HVO the CO 2 footprint of the mtu systems for dynamic uninterruptible power supply (DUPS) can be reduced by up to 90% (depending on the fuel’s manufacturing process and feedstock), particulate emissions by up to 80% and nitrogen oxide emissions by up to eight percent compared to fossil diesel. This happens without any interruption.
