We’re showing 100 percent charge and a range of 475km. This is thanks to the optional ($12,020) Performance Battery Plus – 93.4kWh on tap rather than the standard 72.6kWh. Except there’s no wireless phone charging, annoyingly. Well, maybe that Bose audio. It’s bloody brilliant.

I have been on exactly one ICE (dinasour juice* consuming Internal Combustion Engine vehicles) roadtrip prior to this. Yeah, unlike ICE vehicles, you can’t just pick up and leave (yet) - especially for trips that are longer than 2x the car’s range. The orange ones are fast chargers (chargers charging 25kW and above).

Okay, 97 per cent battery life and 387km range. There’s something far more reassuring when getting in the $72,590 Kia EV6 Air and seeing 528km range remaining. It’s mind-blowing, if not quite in the re-wire brain territory of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. Importantly, I’m back to 100% charge and 376km range.

A distance of 923 km using DC fast charging infrastructure. Udaipur is the local minima of the Aravali range. The power was still on as the dashboard and LCD screen so the auxiliary battery was still connected. SoC was 83%, so there were no battery drain issue. There was a tamarind tree on the road side below the flyover.
