Nissan provided a list of the top 15 markets in the US for the Nissan LEAF battery-electric vehicle. Another three are on the West Coast and in Hawaii: Seattle (4), Portland (5), and Honolulu (6). Toyota has reduced the MSRP on the 2014 Prius Plug-in Hybrid by more than $2,000, making the starting MSRP $29,990 (excluding dealer preparation and handling, DPH). kWh Li-ion battery pack. This price repositioning on the base Prius Plug-in Hybrid is not accompanied by any reduction in vehicle content.

CODA Automotive, a California-based, US-engineered electric car and battery company, is now accepting deposits for its 100% electric, four-door, five-passenger electric sedan. CODA also currently plans to begin selling vehicles in Hawaii in the third quarter of 2011, where the car will be eligible for a $4,500 tax rebate offered in the state.

Following the launch of the Soul EV ( earlier post ) late last year in California, along with sales beginning in Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii earlier this year, Kia Motors America (KMA) is expanding availability of its fully charged urban runabout into four new states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maryland.
