The 100% electric A110 E-ternité prototype had its world premiere at the French Formula 1 Grand Prix. A rolling laboratory, the A110 E-ternité is an open-top car which maintains Alpine’s agility with a lightness unequalled for an electric car in this segment. Four modules were therefore placed at the front and eight at the rear.

Volvo Buses is participating in a research project in which used electric bus batteries are used as solar energy storage units. Researchers at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in late February demonstrated a 20-kilowatt bi-directional wireless charging system installed on a UPS medium-duty, plug-in hybrid electric delivery truck. ORNL’s bidirectional technology is fully compliant with grid power quality standards.

A new study released by economists at The Brattle Group concludes that an investment in the range of $75–125 billion would be needed across the electric power sector supply chain by 2030 to serve 20 million EVs—the target selected for the analysis—including adding 1–2 million public chargers.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) approved $5,580,773 for clean-energy transportation projects including biodiesel production, power control electronics for medium-and heavy-duty battery electric vehicles, and buydowns for propane vehicles. Currently, these powertrains are primarily installed in shuttle buses and delivery trucks.
