Electric cars are becoming an attractive business proposition for high-mileage vehicle operators such as ride-sharer Uber in key EU capitals such as Paris, Berlin, Madrid and Lisbon, a new study by research and campaign group Transport & Environment (T&E) has found. By then more than 200 different EV models will be available in the showrooms.

In due course it will enable green hydrogen to be injected into the blast furnace as it becomes available. At ArcelorMittal Dunkerque a study has been launched to build a large-scale DRI plant, combined with an electric arc furnace. Customers will be able to buy green steel, based on verified emissions compared with a 2018 baseline.

Consumers’ expectations around the performance and purchase price of electric vehicles are so divergent from the actual offerings available today, that no more than 2–4% of consumers worldwide would have their expectations met, according to a new survey from Deloitte. The Deloitte survey found global consumer interest in EVs is high.
