Yes GM will lose $ on the Volt, just like the first Insights or Priuss, but unlike Toyota or Honda, they just cant afford to wait for it to catch on and become profitable. The big deal was that the oil industry saw real competition and persuaded GM to abandon the project and crush them all like cans. Its a damn shame. Never again.
