Most commonly it is refined from conventional coal seam gas, often termed ‘natural gas’ to greenwash what it really is, in essence just methane found with other fossil-fuel deposits. If taken from such sources, hydrogen is a fossil fuel, and is not a renewable resource. Hydrogen ions are highly acidic and thus highly corrosive.
