The afternoon was spent at the Milford Proving Grounds which covers 4,000 acres and includes over 132 miles of roads ranging from “ordinary” suburban lanes to a high speed test track. Currently, they have a fleet of 116 vehicles spread throughout the world: Los Angeles, NYC, Washington, Berlin, Shanghai and Seoul.

The 2023 Niro EV has an EPA estimated driving range of 253 miles, an increase of 14 miles compared to the outgoing 2022 Niro EV. In 340 miles of driving through Southern California counties of Orange, San Diego and Los Angeles, we averaged 4.1 miles per kilowatt-hour (kWh), which is very efficient.

Per BMW’s press release the MINI E will be motivated by a 150kW electric drive system with a range of 150 miles per charge and a top speed of 95 mph. We’ll know soon enough when we get the opportunity to see the debut of the all electric plug-in MINI E in November 2008 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
