Volvo Cars has published a lifecycle analysis report on its second fully electric car, the C40 Recharge, which shows the potential CO 2 reductions if a car is built and charged using clean energy sources. However, a significantly lower carbon footprint is achieved when charging the car with renewable electricity, such as wind power.

Kia Motors will introduce its first 48V diesel mild-hybrid powertrain in the second half of 2018. The new “EcoDynamics+” powertrain supplements acceleration with electric power from an additional 48-volt battery and extends combustion engine ‘off time’ using a new Mild-Hybrid Starter-Generator unit.

Rheinmetall Automotive sees its content per car rising under an e-mobility scenario, with battery-electric vehicles offering the greatest opportunity. The new battery-electric London cabs manufactured by Geely, for example, will have four Rheinmetall pumps incorporated, representing about €200 in sales for the company for each car.

Hyundai presented its new 2019 Kona Electric crossover (introduced in March at the New York Auto Show, earlier post ) and 2019 NEXO fuel cell SUV (showcased at CES in January, earlier post ) to US media at a driving introduction in Los Angeles.
