Volkswagen has been testing the newly developed R33 BlueDiesel fuel blend at its in-house filling station in Wolfsburg since January 2018. The current supplier since January 2018 is Shell Global Solutions in cooperation with Tecosol and Neste, who supply fuels certified according to European standards.

We reached our environmental target of producing our vehicles 25 percent more sustainable by 2018 before the date set. This corresponded to 40 percent for the global climate protection factors CO2 and energy, and 60 percent for the local environmental protection factors of water consumption, waste production and solvent emissions.
