Researchers Finds Lake Tanganyika Has Experienced Unprecedented Warming Over Last Century

Lake Tanganyika is bordered by Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia—four of the poorest countries in the world, according to the United Nations Human Development Index. A team of researchers led by Brown University has found that Lake Tanganyika in east Africa—the second-oldest and the second-deepest lake in the world—has experienced unprecedented warming in the last century.
