Ford Motor Company is investing $1.2 billion in three Michigan manufacturing facilities to strengthen its leadership in trucks and SUVs and support the company’s expansion to an auto and mobility company. Ford is investing $850 million in Michigan Assembly Plant to retool the plant to build the all-new Ford Ranger and Ford Bronco.

General Motors will invest $2.2 Our electric pickup will be the first of multiple electric truck variants we will build at Detroit-Hamtramck over the next few years. Since the fall of 2018, GM has committed to invest more than $2.5 GM’s first all-electric truck will be a pickup with production scheduled to begin in late 2021.

After leaving GM in 2009, Dr. Burns was a Professor of Engineering Practice at the University of Michigan (2011-2015), and Director of the Program for Sustainable Mobility at Columbia University (2010-2014).

During the virtual event, Chevrolet Performance will survey SEMA members interested in building their own electric projects to help finalize Chevrolet’s initial eCrate offering. Chevrolet first previewed the eCrate conversion concept with the Chevrolet eCOPO Camaro in 2018 ( earlier post ), followed by the Chevrolet E-10 in 2019.

General Motors will invest $1 billion in its Warren Technical Center campus. The multiyear project, which is driving new construction on the campus, significant renovations of some existing facilities and expansion of some operations, begins this month with work continuing through 2018 at the National Historic Landmark site.
