The overall EU EV (BEV and PHEV) sales share ended up around 10 percent, versus the 3 percent for 2019. While BEVs were a hot item last month, jumping 81%, to a record 407.000 units, PHEVs were even hooter, shooting 205% in December, allowing them to end the year with 31% of plugin sales, up 5% from the 26% of 2019, giving credit to those that say that PHEVs will still be around for a while. GM is bringing back the Hummer brand as an EV within the GMC brand. A new model provides a fresh start but as an unknown quantity needs heavy promotion to get traction in the crowded auto market. GM, shifting focus to pure EVs, built the last Volt on February 19, 2019. I’m hoping for the latter. Create a New Model.
