Ford has tripled to more than 200 the number of US dealers certified to sell its lineup of plug-in electrified vehicles, including the new C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid that is on sale now and delivers the equivalent of 105 mpg combined in electric mode. Ford recently began production of the C-MAX Energi at its Michigan Assembly Plant.

The new reduced lease price and unlimited mileage term also will be applied to existing Fit EV customer leases going forward starting in June 2013. In addition to the new lease price, the Fit EV online application process is further streamlined to allow for quicker approval and delivery of the vehicle to the customer.

General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant, home of the Chevrolet Volt, will close for four weeks beginning in June for planned upgrades to prepare for a significant increase in the rate of Volt production, along with assembly of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu midsize sedan.

Toyota has reduced the MSRP on the 2014 Prius Plug-in Hybrid by more than $2,000, making the starting MSRP $29,990 (excluding dealer preparation and handling, DPH).
