The Nissan LEAF EV will be available in Hawaii beginning in January 2011. Hawaii is providing a $4,500 state tax credit towards the purchase of an electric vehicle and a $500 state tax credit towards the purchase and installation of a home charging station.

The $99, full-refundable reservation process is a first step in securing a place on the list to purchase or lease a Nissan LEAF. The Nissan LEAF begins rolling out to select markets in December, and will be widely available in 2011. After placing a reservation, a customer will be able to indicate a preferred dealer.
