LADA XRAY, a hatchback SUV based on the B0 platform, was developed by AvtoVAZ stylists while its body was developed jointly by Renault and AvtoVAZ. Having become a shareholder of AvtoVAZ in 2008, Rostec appointed a group of managers to develop AvtoVAZ in 2009. Production is scheduled to start in 2016 in Togliatti.

The factory, which produces the Renault Pulse, Scala and Duster, and the Nissan Micra, Sunny and Evalia, represents an investment of about US$1 billion, or 45 billion INR from 2008 to 2015. The company will launch 10 new vehicles in India through 2016 including new premium SUV Terrano later this year and the first Datsun car.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. The easiest conversions are for 2004-2008 Prius (not 2001-2003 Prius) and the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner Hybrid. The kit is designed so the batteries can be upgraded to lithium-phosphate.) So far, most start as hybrids.
