Pennsylvania’s Public-Private Partnership (P3) Board has approved a project seeking a private partner to develop compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations at public transit agencies around the state that would also provide public access to the facilities. A project team could be selected in summer 2015.

PECO is expanding its fleet with new natural gas and hybrid electric models. The utility is participating in a national consortium that recently was awarded a federal stimulus grant to purchase plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and the company is buying more trucks to run on compressed natural gas (CNG) as well.

This period in US history saw gas lines and severe unemployment and also a period (in which is atypical during a recessionary period), rising inflation. So what does this have to do with Electric Cars?

As our climate change crisis worsens and spins out of control with each passing day there’s no time to spare for those of us whose job it is to educate and motivate our fellow citizens to actions that cut our greenhouse gas emissions. Or waiting for do-nothing local governments to do the right thing. It’s a classic win/win/win.
