London to charge all pre-2004 cars $27 to enter on weekdays

For more than 13 years, London has collected a stiff charge from motor vehicles entering the congested core of the city during weekday business hours. Known as the congestion charge, the fee of £11.50 a day, or $14.50 (£10 with automatic payment, or $12.50) is levied from 6 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday except holidays.

FedEx Converts 92 Delivery Trucks to Hybrids, Expanding Hybrid-Electric Fleet by 50%

The retrofitted hybrid trucks are projected to improve fuel economy by 44%, decrease particulate matter by 96% and reduce NO x emissions by 75% compared to the standard FedEx Express delivery truck. As a result of these efforts, FedEx Express has saved 45 million gallons of fuel or 452,573 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Toyota Prius named WhatGreenCar of the Year
