Lord Drayson has launched Drayson Wireless Limited , a new venture to commercialize technology developed at Imperial College London (ICL) for the efficient wireless transfer of power over longer distances. He became a life peer in the House of Lords in 2004 and served as Defence and Science Minister in the Blair and Brown governments before returning to his career in business.

FedEx Converts 92 Delivery Trucks to Hybrids, Expanding Hybrid-Electric Fleet by 50%

Formisano applauded the California government for continuing to provide incentive funding for hybrid truck purchases, which allowed FedEx to place its first hybrid truck into service in the state in 2004 and continue to add hybrids to its fleet during the past five years. The FedEx hybrid-electric fleet has logged more than four million miles of revenue service since being introduced in 2004, reducing fuel use by 150,000 gallons and carbon dioxide emissions by 1,521 metric tons.

Daimler Takes 10% Stake in Tesla; Strategic Partnership to Collaborate on Future Models

In 2004, Tesla began development of its first electric vehicle, the Roadster, and is the first US- and EU-certified lithium-ion battery electric vehicle.
