If youre a stickler for electric vehicles, there is an electric scooter that will travel up to 60 miles and can be recharged in 3 hours. by ChefTom56 April 7, 2009 7:16 AM PDT This is a great concept, except in the winter in most cities and the summer in Phoenix, so this will only be a part-time ride in the most optimistic sense possible.

The Renault-Nissan Alliance is building fleet charging stations in Portland and Phoenix. The electricity for recharging has to come from somewhere, which means power plants. While Id been harsh on the need for outside recharge stations in the past, actually an intermediate charge may extend battery life.
