New York City is adding 70 electric vehicles to its fleet: 50 new Chevrolet Volts, 10 fully electric Ford Transit Connect cargo vans, and 10 new fully electric Navistar E-star utility trucks. The Chevrolet Volt is the first electric car being used by the NYPD.

The original CivicWithACord design used 18 8-volt golf cart batteries. After some debate on the Google Group and dealing with clutch-link interference issues, I'm tending towards 12-volt group-31 AGM batteries for the initial design. So thats disappointing. As stinky is another way of saying not healthy to breathe.

The MiEV runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged in seven or so hours on a 240-volt line. market for sustainable “green” energy purchases. The Chevy Volt is going to count on an overnight charge from a standard wall outlet. Duh, heres our $40K volt, buy it please? Electric cars a still a joke.
