The roomy Model S luxury sedan now starts at about $90,000 with a 100 kWh battery pack and all-wheel drive, offering 405 miles of range.

Bright Automotive says it soon release an electric car with a 100 mile per gallon plus plug-in – and the company says it will keep the car economically priced. Bright Automotive, which spun out of the Rocky Mountain Institute in January, is building a plug-in hybrid vehicle that will get 100 miles a gallon (see Green Lightpost).
