The State of Maryland followed in the footsteps of California today by banning all new gas vehicle sales by the model year 2035. Maryland laws already exist that require the State to match California’s vehicle emissions programs. Car exhaust is the largest source of greenhouse gas in the State of Maryland.

The governors of 8 states—California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont—have signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU ) to take specific actions to put 3.3 US electric car sales in 2012 more than tripled to about 52,000 from 17,000 in 2011.

Stellantis is reportedly no longer allocating gasoline-only vehicles to the fourteen states with leadership that has agreed to adhere to the emission standards set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Those standards are separate from the zero-emission sales minimums that begin in 2026. Expect to see surging Jeep 4xe sales.
